The Dutch EASI team was founded in september 2005. The team underscored the international EASI goals, being:
- Improvement of the communicatio between clinicians and laboratory specialists
- Standardisation of tests for autoantibodies
- Harmonisation of tests, algoritms and interpretation of results
At the time EASI started, there already existed several initiatives in the Netherlands with (partially) overlapping goals. Is was decided to collaborate with these initiatives, which was facilitated because of substantial overlap in the people involved.
